Vinylmation Billiards Set!

So for this release I decided not show up early at D Street to get my hands on this set. The consensus from the VinylNation.net community seemed to be that this set at a retail price of $255.95 was a little expensive for people's taste. So I headed down after work around 6pm, and sure enough there were plenty of these bad boys left for purchase.

After picking up this set I was still unsure about adding it to my collection. Doing the math on this set, "if" each vinyl was $9.95 the total for all 16 vinyls would be $159.20, meaning the packaging would cost $96.75. And "if" the vinyl's were $14.95 each, the total would be $239.20 for all 16, making the packaging $16.75. Which sounds a little bit more reasonable for packaging. But at the same time $14.95 for these vinyl's sounds like a bit too much (in my opinion, of course). The Eight-ball design is pretty simple, stripes and solids. That sounds like $9.95 to me! But $96.75 for the package then? Now I understand there's probably more factors that add to the overall total. But regardless, the packaging is expensive.

So is it worth it?

The packaging is pretty clean looking. The set came neatly wrapped in bubble wrap to protect the box.
There's a nice sleeve that fits around the actual box.
Even the detail on the side of the box it's nicely done. Perfect for displaying at any angle.
The top of the box has magnets in it that snap to the bottom of the box to keep it secure. The plastic piece that covers the vinyls displays the triangular rack. Which really makes the billiards set look legit.
Underneath the plastic lies the mock green baize cloth, which is a nice touch. And of course the vinyl's are arranged in one of numerous proper racks.
The cue ball vinyl mimics a pool stick nearing or hitting the cue ball.
Overall, (again in my opinion) the packaging really makes this set a "billiards" set. So is the packaging alone worth $96.75? For the hardcore vinylmation collector such as myself, of course it is!!!
