3" Tron Vinylmation

Although I didn't anticipate a large crowd for this release; I was up early in the morning and made my way down to Downtown Disney for the 3" Tron Vinylmation release. What I also didn't anticipate was the weather! It was raining so hard! My windshield wipers were on full speed as I slowly made my way through the rain! There wasn't much traffic on the freeway, but everyone was driving about 40mph just to be safe. I wanted to get a shot of the freeway conditions, but I was too scared to take either hand off the steering wheel. So you'll have to settle for me pulling into the Downtown Disney parking lot. Haha.

Upon arrival, as expected, I was the one and only person in line. Although Disney assigned three castmembers that morning to handle the release, so at least they kept me company. The rain was pretty steady all throughout the morning. It finally calm down till about 8:30am.

I eventually made my way into the park to snap some photos to pass the time. But not after long, all eight Tron Vinylmation figures were finally in my possession.!

After bringing these Vinylmation back home, and having a discussion with the team about them, we were all in agreement that this set is... well, just okay. Unless your very familiar with the movie or have seen it more than once (which it's probably safe to assume you haven't given the 67% rating according to Rotten Tomatoes) you'll probably won't be able to recognize which Vinylmation are which characters. Half the set is pretty cool including the figures Kevin Flynn from the original Tron and Tron Legacy. Also, CLU and Zuse from the new film. But the other four Vinylmation should have been designed differently or could have been done without all together (in our opinion anyways). This should have been a set of four, especially since the hype for the Tron Legacy film has long come and gone. And like the movie, this set overall was a disappointment.

Long story short, we bought all eight Vinylmation anyways!

Hands down our favorite Vinylmation from this series: CLU, Tron Legacy.

Zuse, also known as Castor. A short part in the movie, but very memorable none the less!

Original 1982 Tron, Kevin Flynn.

This is supposed to be Sam Flynn. Who knew? Oh... he's wearing his helmet, of course... that makes sense?

Tron Legacy Kevin Flynn, a very recognizable character.

Quorra, with her helmet on. She barely sported a helmet in the movie, so it kind of puzzled us as to why they would stick a helmet on her for the Vinylmation?

Rinzler.

And lastly, the ever important Jarvis... we guess?

The Legacy Lives On!
