Montebello Disney Store Grand Opening!

The newly designed Disney Store was unveiled today at The Shops at Montebello, in Montebello California! And the VinylMania staff were on scene to check out the Grand Opening!

The exciting part for us Vinylmation collectors was the release of 3 series: Urban #4, Have-a-Laugh, and the much anticipated Toy Story series! All three series have not been released in the parks or online as of yet! And more importantly this is the first time we have ever seen Vinylmation released in a Disney mall store!  So those lucky enough to attend were one of the first to get their hands on these series!

The crazy long lines to get some personal, Woody, Jessie, and Buzz photo time!

The press was there for the official Disney Store Grand opening. Cutting the Ribbon!

Urban #4 for sale! Tons of cases left (as 12:30pm 6-29-10)

Awesome displays in the store including this mini castle for princess merchandise!

The last of the Toy Story cases, which were sold out by the time I left the store.

Have-a-Laugh series, and Toy Story display.

Close up of the actual vinyl display.

Indoor gazebo where kids can color and watch movies!

Get your picture taken with Buzz!!

The hosts from Radio Disney!

My babies made it home!

Close up on Woody and Buzz, I like Lotso in the background sneering!

Say Cheese!!!

A new thing with the actual tray box is that the entire top comes off!

Makes it easier to pull things out or set up the top as a backboard!

And our cries have been heard, the boxes are super easy to open without tearing up the box, and the foils seems easy to get into too! Things us collectors notice!

Can't forget the free giveaways, which included some Disney key chains and these bad boys!!!

Forever a kid at heart!

Vinylmation Condiments Set

The VinylMania team was up and at em' bright and early for this release! But much to our dismay our eagerness was unnecessary! We waited around for a couple of hours by our lonesome, and it was only until near store opening that other people finally showed to purchase this set. I guess it makes sense. With an addition size of 2000 and a retail price of $84.95 people were not flocking to pick this set up!

But as completists, of course we were there to get our hands on the Condiments!

But I really doubt in the future we will see Disney package several Vinylmation together in a set.

There were plenty of sets to go around!

We absolutely love the Honey Bear! By far our favorite!

These three are okay designs in our opinion. Worth approximately $14.15? Maybe?

Vinylmation Jr. Series 2

Not collecting the first Jr. series, this set was my first Jr. collection! I loved that the designs were based on Disney characters. Designs included Nemo, Goofy, Cinderella, Genie, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck, Tigger, Snow White, Bambi, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Winnie the Pooh, Chip & Dale, Chesire Cat, Figment, and Peter Pan.

The paint detail on these Vinylmation isn't the greatest, but they're so small that you cannot notice their imperfections unless you look at them very closely.

As you can see, the Vinylmation Jr. are very small. They look extra tiny in my hand!

The Chasers for this series is the beloved duo of Chip & Dale!

All in all, this set is very cool! In fact, I like this set so much I went out and picked up the first Vinylmation Jr. Series. Although series 2 is my favorite of the two.

Glow-in-the-Dark 9" & 3" Vinylmation!

With the debut of the World of Color at Disney's California Adventure, 9" & 3" Glow-in-the-Dark "Create Your Own" Vinylmations have been released at the Disneyland Resort!

Glow-in-the-Dark, being the seventh "CYO" color available, I'm sure we'll see more Vinylmations in the future utilizing this color!

Comparing the 3" Glow-in-the-Dark CYO Vinylmation to the Urban 1 Glow Mickey or the Holiday 1 Glow, the new vinyl seems to made differently. The Glow Mickey and Glow Bat seemed to have a Glow-in-the-Dark layer painted on them, making their surface noticeably rough. Versus the new Glow-in-the-Dark "CYO" Vinylmation that seems to be entirely made from a Glow-in-the-Dark material. Making it glow brighter when charged by the light and longer lasting as well!

To sum these up... "very cool!"
